Automate with Fracta Software for Charpy & Izod Manual Pendulum Impact Testing (ASTM E23)
Product designs requiring impact energy values of up to 300 Ft-Lbs can be obtained using an SI Series manual impact tester. Specific models are capable of testing Charpy & Izod impact specimen applications to ASTM E23, EN10045-2, ISO-148 and GOST 9454-78 specifications. Many of these machines provide impact values using a mechanical dial that must be read by the machine operator. Fracta™ Software is now offered on new impact testers as an alternative to reading a dial and can also be adapted to your existing SI Series manual pendulum impact testing machine to automate your test results.
Fracta software provides a display option in either Ft-Lbs or Joules. The display screen also provides user inputs for up to 10 parameters that include details about the specimen material or test conditions. The software creates .CSV files that can be opened in Excel for further test data processing. Additionally, the software can be enabled for Test Inputs (specific specimen dimensions) used to calculate elasticity.
This versatile software includes a Calibration Display to provide pendulum information including: current, peak & latch angles, impact velocity, hammer length and weight, and friction. This screen also allows for periodic verification of the friction.
